Build your own exercise routine

These exercises have been developed in partnership with a specialist neurophysiotherapist, and you can adapt them to your own needs. They vary in difficulty, so you may find that not all of them are right for you. Initially you might want to consider enlisting help from a physiotherapist to help you choose the right exercises for you, and advise you on how to build up the amount that you do gradually and how to fit them in with your daily activities.

There are 32 individual movements, and they have been divided up into 12 different exercise programmes based on the starting position (sitting, standing, kneeling or lying) and the issues they help address (such as balance, posture and strength). As a result, exercises are duplicated in different sections of this page. You could start with one programme, and then add movements from other programmes as you gain confidence.

If you wish to see animated demonstrations of each specific movement, you can click on the links at the bottom of the page. Here you will find step-by-step instructions on how to perform the exercises safely.
