The pathway is designed to reflect the complexity of MS, characterised by clinical unpredictability and variability requiring rapid access to specialist services superimposed on a more progressive picture that necessitates consistent review and rehabilitation. This mixed picture can occur at any point along the condition trajectory. The pathway demonstrates that the people with MS do not follow a linear trajectory and require care close to home that utilizes specialist services, can deliver a rapid response to unpredictable change and is consistently underpinned by review and rehabilitation.
