Cochrane is an independent network of researchers, health professionals and users of health services around the world.
Cochrane teams carry out systematic reviews. These involve looking at the range of research on a topic and comparing the quality and results of studies. Cochrane reviews are helpful when there have been several studies of a subject, but where there is some variation in the findings.
Some examples in MS include diet, exercise and fatigue, and evidence for drugs such as Aubagio (teriflunomide) and Tecfidera (dimethyl fumarate).
The reviews are updated regularly to add new evidence so that treatment decisions can be based on the most up-to-date information. The reviews are free to read on the Cochrane website.
