Angela J Simpson who is an artist specialising in animal portraits and wildlife, won a competition last Christmas with her beautiful sheep design 'Sophie' and chose the MS Trust as her charity of choice.
Angela was awarded first prize in The Artist magazine's Charity Painting Competition last year and her winning design was featured in the magazine with a special Christmas and New Year message. The magazine also donated £200 to the winners charity of choice - the MS Trust of course!
We were delighted that Angela won this competition and were even more excited when she offered to donate her image to us to use for a Christmas card design this year. We felt this would really add to our range and after a couple of tweaks from our designers to make the beautiful image of 'Sophie' stand out a little more it was printed and is now on sale.
On hearing the news of the design being featured as one of our Christmas cards this year Sally Bulgin, Editor of The Artist commented "Angela's wonderfully seasonal artwork Sophie beguiled us all and we felt it to be the perfect image to accompany our Christmas greeting last year. We are thrilled to learn that it has become the Christmas card image for her chosen charity, the Multiple Sclerosis Trust, this year and hope that it is enjoyed by recipients as much as it was by The Artist magazine readers."
