1. Funding
1.1 You must pay the full cost of the module (£2,160 including VAT) 8 weeks before the start of the course. If this is not paid, you will not be able to attend the module.
1.2 You must provide us with invoicing information at least 3 months prior to the module starting, unless exceptional circumstances apply. Invoicing information must include the full name and address of the funder, a purchase order number if required, a valid email address for the invoice to be sent to, and a phone number for the funder.
1.3 If securing the funds is an issue, or there will be a delay due to circumstances outside of your control, please contact the MS Trust and we will consider exceptional circumstances on a case-by-case basis.
2. Assignment
2.1 Completing the assignment at either level 6 or level 7 is a compulsory aspect of the module.
2.2 To complete a level 7 module, you will need to have an undergraduate degree or equivalent at a pass and have been in post for 3-6 months or have other relevant experience.
2.3 Credits are awarded upon successful completion of the module and assignment.
2.4 If you are unable to submit your assignment on time, you will be required to apply for an extension in line with Birmingham City University policy. Please note that applications for extensions or deferrals due to extenuating circumstances require you to submit evidence of an ongoing issue to Birmingham City University.
2.4.1 The MS Trust should be notified if you are applying for an extension or deferral due to extenuating circumstances.
2.5 You are entitled to one re-sit of your assignment if you have submitted your work at the original deadline and have been unsuccessful on your first attempt.
2.6 You are required to submit your assignment via Moodle in the correct format and including your BCU student ID number, through the submission portal by the deadline.
3. Cancellation
3.1 Should you need to cancel your place, the following charges will be incurred, unless extenuating circumstances apply:

3.2 We will require evidence of extenuating circumstances as well as a supporting letter from your line manager. Evidence can include a doctor’s note, death certificate or letter of Jury service.
3.3 Please note, places can only be deferred once and will be subject to any updated terms and conditions of the module. After this, you would be required to reapply for a place on the module.
3.4 The MS Trust reserves the right to reschedule the module up to 6 weeks in advance if there are any external factors that would make running the module impossible or under-attended.
4. Accommodation
4.1 The MS Trust books your accommodation for the residential aspect of the module, from Monday night to Friday morning. This is included in the overall price of the course.
4.2 The option is available to book accommodation for the Sunday night before the course starts. If you wish to stay the Sunday night, it is bookable directly with the hotel. This is not funded by the MS Trust.
4.3 Rooms are single occupancy accommodation and additional guests are not permitted.
4.4 If you require access arrangements, please contact a member of the MS Trust team and we will accommodate this.
5. Travel
5.1 In the first instance, we ask that your employer covers your travel expenses. There are funds within NHS and booking offices to assist, so please ask your line manager about this provision. However, in exceptional circumstances we will consider an application to claim for travel expenses.
5.2 Travel arrangements are your responsibility and should enable you to stay for the full duration of the in-person teaching week (from 1pm on the Monday until 1:45pm on the Friday). Exceptions to this will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
6. Attendance
6.1 Attendance is compulsory at all in-person and mandatory online sessions to gain a certificate of completion from this course. You will be expected to sign into each session.
6.2 if you cannot attend any part of the course due to illness you will need to report this by 08:30 to education@mstrust.org.uk and provide a doctor’s note.
6.3 Any absences require you to liaise with the module lead on how to catch up on the missed work.
6.4 Failure to attend the residential week means you will be responsible for paying the full module costs (£2160 including VAT) for your allocated place.
7. Emails
7.1 You are responsible for regularly checking their BCU email account for updates on the course.
7.2 By signing up to the course, you have agreed for communications about the course to be emailed to you on the email address provided and your BCU account.
8. Meals
8.1 Meals will be provided for every breakfast and lunch time. We will have one dinner on the Thursday evening, where you will be offered meal choices.
8.1.1 If you do not return your meal choices by the specified deadline you will be allocated a vegan meal option. There will be no opportunity to change your meal choices after the deadline.
8.2 If you have any food allergies or intolerances, it is your responsibility to notify us of this as soon as possible so that we can arrange for these to be accommodated.
8.3 You will be responsible for purchasing your own food on the other nights of the in-person teaching week. A list of nearby restaurant suggestions and takeaway options will be provided to you. The MS Trust will not reimburse you for any food expenses.
