MS Awareness Week takes place 24 – 30 April. This year we are raising the bar by teaming up with six other MS charities. Together we can make our voices louder! Join the conversation at #MSMakesMe and share the impact MS has on your mood.

This MS Awareness Week (24 – 30 April 2023) seven of the UK’s MS charities have come together with one, unified message for the first time ever. We’re teaming up with The MS Society, Overcoming MS, MS Together, Shift.ms, MS-UK and MS National Therapy Centres to shine a brighter light on MS, than ever before.

Over *130,000 people live with MS in the UK. Many people have a fixed idea of what a person living with MS looks like. However, we know that MS is widely unpredictable and the experience is different for everyone. It can bring up a range of strong emotions. People may feel scared, anxious, or alone, while others feel hopeful, resilient, or strong.

So, this MS Awareness Week we are highlighting the diverse reality of living with MS. This is where you come in! Throughout the week we’d love you to use the hashtag #MSMakesMe to tell us how MS makes you feel.

For example, “#MSMakesMe frustrated” or “#MSMakesMe brave”.

The whole community can get involved, whether you live with MS yourself, or you’re a friend, family member, carer or healthcare professional – you’re invited to join the conversation!

#MSMakesMe…exhausted. BUT... I absolutely REFUSE to give up! I'd say 90% of the time, nobody knows there is anything wrong with me

#MSMakesMe…uncertain. I can’t walk as far as I could anymore and I have to really plan where I’m going to go in advance.

Throughout the week, the MS Trust along with the six other charities will provide a range of activities and resources which aim to support your mental wellbeing. You could try anything from an accessible exercise classes, to a webinar, to a drop-in support sessions, and more. Follow along on social media to find out more or read about the MS Trust's MS Awareness Week plans.
