A Blessing for Plymouth - Big thanks to outgoing MS Nurse, Blessing Oluwasanmi

15 January 2025

Blessing Oluwasanmi

The MS Trust would like to wish Blessing Oluwasanmi the best of luck in her new role as an MS Nurse at the Walton Centre in Liverpool.

Blessing started her career in MS as an MS Trust funded nurse at the University Hospital Plymouth, where she has made a huge impact on the people with MS she cared for.

Thank you, Blessing. You’ve been there when I needed you the most, when I needed support and guidance, through undoubtably the toughest times of my life.

Samantha, one of Blessing’s patients

The MS Trust initially worked with the University Hospital Plymouth to create Blessing's role in Plymouth in 2023 to address a clear need for increased MS healthcare support in the area. The success of this role has been clear, with the hospital confirming in 2024 that they would commit to funding the role in full and securing its permanent status. Recruitment for Blessing’s replacement is already underway which will ensure a consistent continuation of care for people living with MS in the region.

As a team we are very sorry to see Blessing move to pastures new. Over the last 18 months, with our and the MS Trust’s support, Blessing has gone from a novice to become an excellent MS specialist nurse. We are pleased that she is staying within the MS world. Those people affected by MS in the Liverpool area will benefit from her knowledge and high standards of care. We will all miss her and we wish her well. We look forward to catching up at the MS Trust conference at the end of March.
