On International Nurses Day - thank you
International Nurses Day: Thank you to MS Nurses who are supporting better MS care.
11 May 2026
On International Nurses Day, we want to recognise the difference MS nurses make to people living with multiple sclerosis.
For many people with MS, nurses are a key part of their care. They provide trusted advice, help navigate complex treatments, and offer support at some of the most challenging points in a person’s life. Their skill and dedication help people feel more informed, more confident and more supported in managing their condition.
At MS Trust, we see how the way nurses work together directly benefits people with MS. When nurses share knowledge, learn from each other and speak openly about what works and what doesn’t, it leads to better, more consistent care. It means people with MS are more likely to receive up to date information, timely support and services that reflect real needs. This is why events such as MS Trust’s annual conference and Development Module are so vital to improving care.
Nurses also play an important role in helping people feel heard and understood. Through their day to day work, they build relationships, provide reassurance and advocate for improvements in care. These connections can make a real difference, particularly for those newly diagnosed or facing changes in their condition.
Nursing leadership is increasingly shaping how MS services are designed and delivered. This means care is becoming more person centred, more joined up and more responsive to the realities of living with MS.
Everything we do at MS Trust is grounded the shared goal of improving the lives of people with MS. By working closely with nurses, listening to their experience and supporting their development, we help strengthen the care and support available to everyone affected by MS.
For many people living with MS, their nurse is a constant source of support, understanding and expert guidance. The difference MS nurses make goes far beyond just clinical care, they help people feel heard, informed and supported every day.
