Demyelinating conditions
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is not the only condition caused by autoimmune demyelination and damage to nerves. MS mimics, such as transverse myelitis (TM), acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM) and neuromyelitis optica (NMO or NMOSD) have similar symptoms, which can make diagnosis and treatment tricky.
