If we could raise money to help other people in need of support for the sake of a few blisters, then we will!

Rose and Jane

Sisters Rose and Jane took part in Miles for MS in memory of their mum. Rose shares why she and Jane took on this challenge to support the MS Trust.

Our mum, Pippa, was diagnosed with MS when she was 38, after experiencing symptoms when she was 17. Our Mum was the most amazing, caring, kind lady, who made our childhood. Watching her deteriorate, and eventually passing away at the very young age of 62 was heart-breaking. If we could raise money to help other people in need of support for the sake of a few blisters, then we will and to walk in memory of our beautiful mum.

Jane and I chose to walk The Liberty Trail- HamHill in Somerset to Lyme Regis in Dorset covering circa 28 miles. We actually got lost so ended up doing an extra 2 miles!

The biggest challenge taking part was Jane falling over in a field and rolling her ankle! What did I enjoy about taking part? Watching Jane fall in a field and rolling her ankle... No, the best part was spending time with my sister, talking about mum and seeing the gorgeous part of the South West we live in!

My advice to anyone who looking to take on a challenge like this, if you want to walk a lot of miles, do training beforehand! It helped us beyond belief! And, have fun!"

Everyone at the MS Trust would like to thank Rose and Jane for raising over £1,700 to support our work! If they have inspired you to take on a similar challenge, please email fundraising@mstrust.org.uk and we can help you get started!
