Neurologists and people with MS are optimistic that the next decade will see a breakthrough in the treatment of MS. The comments come with the launch of a research fundraising campaign by the MS Society whose intention is that "a range of medications ... will be in late stage trials by as early as 2025". Coverage includes the recent metformin trial and the ongoing statins trial .
