Worldwide prevalence of MS
A recently published study suggests that the prevalence of MS (number of people living the MS) has increased by 10.4% from 1990 to 2016. The regions with the highest prevalence rates are North America, Western Europe and Australasia.

United States National MS Society funds study of stem cells for progressive MS
The National MS Society in the USA is contributing $1 million to a phase 2 trial of mesenchymal stem cells to treat progressive forms of MS. The study is being undertaken at the Tisch Medical Center in New York.
