Depression and fatigue affect quality of life
Depression and fatigue were the main causes of lower health related quality of life in a Hungarian survey of people with MS

Immune system differences and race
Black and Hispanic people with MS have more B cells (a type of cell in the immune system) than white people according to US research. This may be a factor in the tendency for people with these racial backgrounds to have more active MS and a poorer prognosis
